 <title>Carter, Prudence L.</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Prudence L. Carter received her Sc.B. in applied mathematics-economics from Brown University (1991), her M.A. in sociology and education from Teachers College, Columbia University (1995) and her M.Phil. and Ph.D. in sociology from Columbia University (1999). She completed post-doctoral work at the University of Michigan and joined the Sociology Department at Harvard as an assistant professor in 2001. Her publications have appeared in African American Research Perspectives, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Sociology of Education, Social Problems, and several book volumes. Professor Carter&#039;s primary research agenda contends with prevalent cultural explanations used to explain mobility differences among various racial and ethnic groups. Her award-winning book, Keepin&#039; It Real: School Success beyond Black and White, discusses the intersections of race, ethnicity, class and gender and their influences on culture and academic achievement among low-income African American and Latino youths.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Pecheone, Raymond</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Raymond Pecheone, Ph.D., is the Co-Executive Director of the Stanford School Redesign Network and the Director of the Performance Assessment for California Teachers (PACT) program, a consortium of 18 California Universities that have joined together to develop a reliable and valid measure of teacher quality. Formerly, Ray was the Connecticut Bureau Chief for Curriculum and Teacher Assessment and developed the first performance-based licensure and inductions system for teachers in the nation. In addition, he co-founded INTASC, the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium, and co-directed the first Assessment Development Laboratory for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Ray has helped to develop the design for revamping the New York State&amp;rsquo;s Regents Examinations, served as a consultant to the Council of Chief State School Officers and ETS for the development and validation of a performance-based assessment for school administrators (which is currently used by fifteen states), and consulted with numerous state education departments. Ray has published widely in the area of teacher and student assessment. Ray received is Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. &lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Sean Reardon is Associate Professor in the School of Education at Stanford University. He received an Ed.D. from Harvard University. His research areas and interests focus on the causes and consequences of social and educational inequality. In particular, he studies the causes and consequences of residential and school segregation and the sources of racial/ethnic achievement gaps.  <title>Vasudeva, Ash</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Ash Vasudeva, Ph.D., is Deputy Director of the Stanford Redesign Network at Stanford University. Ash is developing SRN&amp;rsquo;s partnerships with school districts, intermediaries, and charter management organizations to enhance and build local capacity for administrative and instructional leadership. In this capacity he has a lead role in developing and implementing Stanford&amp;rsquo;s LEADS (Leadership for Equity and Accountability in Districts in Schools) initiative &amp;ndash; a national network of school districts committed to supporting systemic secondary education improvements. Ash previously served as Associate Director for Policy Research at SRN where he focused on how district and state policies can support and sustain redesigned high schools. Prior to joining Stanford University, Ash served as Senior Research Associate in WestEd&amp;rsquo;s Evaluation Policy program where he conducted a longitudinal evaluation of the Western Regional Educational Laboratory (WREL). Ash is a former Teach for America corps member who received his BS from Carnegie Mellon University and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. &lt;/p&gt;
