Center for Colorado Policy Studies
Located at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, this policy center applies economic principles and research results to critical policy issues at the state and local levels. CCPS has programs on Education Policy, Tax Policy, and Growth Issues Policy.
Annenberg Institute for School Reform
A policy center located at Brown University. Their focus is to develop, share and act on knowledge that improves the conditions and outcomes of schooling in America. They especially focus their work on urban communities and in schools serving disadvantaged children.
Commercialism in Education Research Unit (CERU)
CERU conducts research, disseminates information, and helps facilitate a dialogue between the education community, policy makers, and the public at large about commercial activities in schools. CERU is the only national academic research center dedicated to schoolhouse commercialism. CERU is housed in the Educational Policy Studies Laboratory at Arizona State University.
Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE)
Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) - CPRE brings together researchers from five of the nation's leading research institutions -- University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison -- in an effort to improve elementary and secondary education through practical research.
Indiana Education Policy Center
"Established in July 1990, the Indiana Education Policy Center provides nonpartisan information and research on education issues to Indiana policymakers and other education stakeholders to improve education" (web site quote). This site has a paper (available in pdf format) that discusses university - based policy centers, and includes a comprehensive national listing of such centers.
The Civil Rights Project
A policy center located at Harvard University whose mission is to mobilize a broadly collaborative effort to redefine and reinvigorate a national civil rights movement, and to work in partnership with other organizations who share that mission.
Northwestern Institute of Policy Research
An interdisciplinary public policy research institute whose mission is to stimulate and support social science research on significant public policy issues and to disseminate the findings widely -- to students, scholars, policymakers, and the public at large.
Policy Analysis for California Education
An independent policy research center, founded in 1983 as a cooperative venture between the schools of education at UC Berkeley and Stanford University. PACE's primary aim is to enrich education policy debates with sound analysis and hard evidence.
