The New Schools Collaborative, a group that includes the Donnell-Kay Foundation, the Piton Foundation, and the Daniels fund, plan to open 100 new autonomous schools in the front range over the next 10 years. They hope to replicate both home-grown and national models in order to serve a substantial number of lower income students. The plan does not address its likely deleterious effect on the surrounding public schools.
