Test scores suggest success in middle school instruction

A review of test scores for middle schools in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. shows that all but three middle schools posted gains on the Maryland School Assessment.  Many middle schools attribute the gains to more rigorious curriculum in the middle schools, most notably advanced math courses.
